Bio

Hi, I’m Eddy. I’m a composer and sound designer specialising in immersive game audio - combining music, sound design, implementation and mixing to create cohesive player experiences.

I have a degree in Music Production and Sound Engineering, which taught me knowledge of software such as FMOD, Unity and Reaktor 6, as well as advanced knowledge of sound design, recording, mixing and mastering techniques.

I approach in-game audio with creativity and technical skill, enhancing environments through the power of sound.

What’s in the works?

Amongst building my demo reel, learning to code and looking for work, I’m always finding new projects to take part in.

Below are some mockups for my most recent audio project, ‘Dead Hand’ - a game where you gamble against the devil, taking artistic inspiration from titles like Buckshot Roulette and Inscryption.

When considering what musical direction I wanted to take, I decided to explore a Silent Hill style soundtrack - melding a dingy, purgatory casino setting with ethereal and unnerving tones to set the mood for the player.

Akira Yamaoka’s work on Silent Hill , especially downtempo tracks like ‘Alone In The Town’ , featured heavily processed samples from old school SFX packs like AMG -260dB, creating the grungy, melancholy mood that encapsulated the gameplay.

Within my work, I adapted these sounds (and SFX packs) to the themes of ‘Dead Hand’, utilising similar sampling and processing techniques to create a soundtrack that fit seamlessly into the background, immersing the player into the position of the character.
